I had a really nice stay and trekking (2D1N) with Jhony and I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a jungle trek in Bukit Lawang. He arranged and took care of everything (pick-up to drop-off, even brought me to ATM and simcard shop with his scooter, all meals included on trekking). He has a very competitive price - the guesthouse is modest, but has everything you need and what you pay for (it is a jungle experience after all so no extra luxury). What is most important is his genuine love for the jungle and the authenticity of his job as a guide. He has many years of experience and built up his own guesthouse - nothing beats supporting true locals!

My days at the Jungle Life Guesthouse were great. The room was really nice, the location perfect and the owners were really kind and helpful. I did the jungle trekking with them and Dandy, my guide, made it an amazing experience, he was so kind and funny and really compromised to make the best time out of it. We also enjoyed really fun nights playing guitar and singing with the guides and local people. If I ever come back, for sure I will book this place again. Thank you so much!

Owner, Tyson welcomed me explained everything needed. A young lady working at the cafe (Diza, sorry if I mistaken the name)made me one of the best meals in Indonesia I’ve ever tried. Sweet dog and cat were also welcoming and slept under my room’s door at night.The room was simple but very clean with beautiful garden setting. The location is a little bit out of town, but walkable and very quiet. Tyson also organized a jungle trek for me and that was also very good. We saw 8 orangutans)

The units will provide guests with a wardrobe and a kettle. The owners Yuyun and Borja see hundreds of tourists every year but have the gift of making everyone feel special. Location, facilities and food were excellent. Breakfast and dinner at La Boca Chica restaurant, which is part of SeaGate, were the best part of our day.

Everything is great, the owners are the most friendly people you ever meet, the service is great, the garden is beautiful, the room is very clean, breakfast is included! What can I say…. Stay there!!! They did 100000 extra miles to make the stay fantastic: we did many great things, like going to the market (30 min from the guesthouse), we went into rice fields and my children loved the soap making! And Eco print! And I really advice you to go to the jungle with them and guide Pipet. Lovely people, really into eco tourism, very responsible…. The jungle tour is fantastic! We love to come here!!!!! A big thanks for you all!!!!!!

At the guest house, the family-friendly restaurant is open for dinner and lunch and serves Indonesian cuisine. It's just great to arrive here after a long flight. A very, very helpful staff will help you with all your questions. After leaving my card in the ATM, they took me to the city, waited for over an hour with me, then took me to another bank. I took up the entire morning of two people and their car due to my stupidity and just a tip was sufficient. It just feels so good to be helped like that. You just don't get that where I'm from. A clean and calm place to escape the busyness of Medan and I can recommend Bua to be your starting and exit point to beautiful Sumatra.
