The hosts are a very lovely elderly couple who hosted us with great warmth and hospitality. We felt so at home, even though if we communicated via the Google Translator (this is totally viable)! The room is very cozy and has a magnificent view on the Tama River down below. We definitely recommend to take the breakfast option: it is a traditional Japanese breakfast prepared by the hosts, it was very delicious. They have two cute cats, which visit while you eat. We regret staying only for two days!

You can do laundry for a small additional cost as well as rent a bike and store luggage for a few days. The location is nice if you are coming from Narita and is very close to Ueno park. Would rate this a 12/10 if I could. The place has been nicely renovated but still has much of the old charm. The colours used make it modern, vibrant and inviting. Our host was kind and welcoming. And the place offered anything we needed and more (Oshima island is lovely!). The town is easily accessible via public transport and the place is a short 5-7min upward walk away from the busstop of habu port. Apparently the place next door sells oshima brewed ipa's but there were out during our visit.
