We stayed for three nights and everything went great. The most amazing thing about this piece of paradise is the people. Carlos and his staff are really warm and welcoming. This is the only place I'll stay in Santo Domingo. It's right in the middle of the Colonial Zone which is safe to walk around day and night for tourists. The rooftop view is STUNNING and I caught the sunrise and sunset each day. The kitchen is huge and modern and was a pleasure to cook in - just make sure to ask for a cutting knife if you need :)

Had an amazing stay at Akunamatata and would highly recommend it. The house was clean and spacious and only a few minutes from the Main Street of Grand Case and the beach. The kitchen had everything you needed while away. The outdoor area was relaxing and the bed very comfortable. Although we were sharing the house with other people it was a perfect place to stay. The location of the villa is fabulous. Thirty minute drive from the airport and a five minute walk to the beach. Each of the three rooms has a different theme. Outside of our room were our own deck chairs and table. Each area was decorated and nicely lit. All rooms faced the pool and the beautiful sea. Travelling from the airport was very easy. The roads are good and well marked. Keep an eye peeled for the road to the villa. There is a sign but it is a narrow road and could be easy to miss! We felt very well taken care of during our stay. The breakfast, served al fresco, consisted of fresh local fruit, ham and prosciutto, fresh baguette and brioche, jams and homemade juice. Delicious! Would definitely stay there again!
