The staff were the highlight of Bica FLH. In addition to their warm welcome and general helpfulness and charm, they gave outstanding recommendations for dinner spots and even made reservations. They allowed us to leave extra baggage in their storage area while we were on our bike ride. The breakfast was nice and additionally, teas, coffee, and snacks are available 24hrs a day. The rooms were comfortable. Some rooms are louder than others due to street noise (mostly late night people) but earplugs are provided.

Anjo Azul is a renovated 18th century property, featuring a modern décor and a charming façade covered with Portuguese tiles. The staff was there 24/7, very helpful and nice. The hotel is very flexible with check out times, which is handy for people like us who stayed out late the night before in Bairro Alto. Everyday when we came back after a long day in Lisbon the room was perfectly cleaned, organized and stocked with fresh towels.
