Cahuita Inn is an oasis on the southern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Exceptional value for money, standing out head and shoulders above anything else we found in Costa Rica in this mid range price bracket. Contemporary comfort, style, security, wonderful service, delicious food, calm atmosphere, beautiful hammock strewn palm grove right on the ocean, with waves rolling in on your doorstep. It's a nice small hotel. rooms are big and clean. There is a kitchen and coffee available in the morning. Tiny swimming pool and beautiful flowers. The owner is very nice and gives a lot of information.

We loved staying in Smile Jungle Hostel, from the first minute to the last. Gonzalo is an amazing host and this was our favourite accommodation in Central America. You feel right at home because everything you could possibly need is available and Gonzalo is always so warm and positive. We loved the closeness to town and the bakery, as well as the discount at the bakery. It was a very cozy spot and the bedrooms were great and very comfortable.

Nice and clean stay in the middle of the jungle. You’ll be sharing the house with host Alexandra – incredibly welcoming – cuddle-cat Michael, and possibly another guest. The kitchen is fully equipped with a wide range of utensils, and the bedrooms have fans. One of the highlights is the bathroom, which is surrounded by glass, offering views of the lush greenery (with complete privacy, of course). The house is about a 15–20 minute bike ride from Puerto Viejo – walking isn’t really an option, but a tuk-tuk (around 4000 CRC) is! Drinking water is available. Board games (including Rummikub) are available too.

The host is very kind and he tries to provide solutions. The location of the house is very good and the place feels safe. The Internet connection was great. The place was very clean and they even had a small space for BBQ.
