Great location in this cute town - next to some nice places to eat and with views of the mountains and coast. Also in a good location to do the hike to Fontanillas. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and the area is quiet at night - with the window open you can hear the sea. Also, a lovely breakfast.

We had a lovely stay at MeloMar Rooms in Ponta do Sol. The accommodation is very central (about 5 mins from just about everything in town) and is clean and comfortable. We had a huge room with a balcony and a very modern en-suite bathroom. A big benefit for us was also the well equipped shared kitchen which meant we could cook for ourselves on a couple of nights. But the best thing about the stay was our hosts, they were kind and friendly and although they didn’t speak much English and we don’t speak much Portuguese, we made it all work just fine! In particular they helped us out when we got the timing wrong for the morning aluguer to Porto Novo - they phoned around and then went out into the square to help find a driver that was willing to to take us in time for our transfer. Amazing. Thank you - I hope we can come back and stay again some time.

Kasa was extremely comfortable, modern, and well-designed. Food portions were very generous, excellent wifi, and there was also free drinking water (instead of having to buy small bottles all the time). Ana helped with planning my hikes and organizing a guide. It's not too long a walk to Paul to catch the aluguers though it's important to keep in mind the island is huge and it takes time and money to get around. I regretted moving to another area b/c I really loved my stay here.

I arrived just after the hotel opened, and everything was perfect. My room faced the ocean — I could even see turtles from there! 🐢❤️ The terrace where we had dinner is beautiful, with an amazing sea view and a peaceful atmosphere. It’s only about 4 km from Ribeira Grande, but it feels like a quiet little paradise. What really made the stay special was the couple who run the place — they made me feel completely at home. Their kindness and hospitality were truly exceptional. ""Morabeza" And the food… wow! The octopus (“polvo”) was absolutely spectacular — honestly the best I’ve had since arriving in Cape Verde and also breakfast was homemade. A perfect spot to relax, enjoy great food, and feel genuinely welcome. Highly recommended! 🤩

It is a great place to stay! It is in walking distance of Paul and it is so beautiful!! Very easy to take one of the busses to the start of the route of the vulcano! Deffinetly recommend!

The staff was really nice and Judith helped out in organising a taxi from Porto Novo to the hotel, including an amazing tour through the island. Also we had a great time with Ivone who prepared very nice vegan breakfast. The hotel has a great terrace with a stunning view and the location is very nice.
