The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. specially birhanu is great and kind man!!The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. I also enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning and loved the convenient location close to center and lalibela churches the rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast is delicious! I really enjoyed my stay in the Merkesa Guest House. It is clean, quiet and, most important, it is save. It has a lovely open yard where you can relax in the shadow of trees. The host, Tedy is polite and helps you with any issues and problems. He even borrowed me some money as mine got stolen. He lives with his lovely family aside and is there, when you need him. I absolutely recommend this spot.

Dessiew and his family are very welcoming and made me feel at home in Lalibela. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast is delicious! Dessiew helped me visiting the churches and the mountain. For those interested he can also help you plan your trip in other regions in Ethiopia. Belay was a great guide with lots of knowledge of the history of Lalibela. I can recommend everyone to stay here.
