Wonderful staff and a great spot to stay for a night if you are visiting Borobudur. The staff organized a driver to take us at 4:30 AM to Punthuk Setumbu to watch the sunrise (lower your expectations – it’s not that impressive). We also used that time to visit the ‘Chicken Church’ (which is actually a pigeon), and afterward, we had an Indonesian breakfast. From there, we walked for about 10 minutes to reach Borobudur’s gate, where we bought the 8:30 AM climbing ticket, which I strongly recommend due to the heat.

Quiet but central wooden huts. Breakfast (we were the only guests but got a very good cappuchino and traditional Indonesian rice free breakfast. Very helpful were free bicycles to the Borobodur temple area entrance which is now no longer a short walking distance, but has been recently moved a 20-30 walk away. Important about Borobodur under the new regime: Make sure you book online ahead of time the „structural tour“ with roof access. Without it you will likely be disappointed.

We had a wonderful time. The place was lovely and relaxing. The family was super sweet and while they didn't speak much English they made every effort to communicate with us. On arrival we were given drinks and home made snacks including a range of fruit from the garden. Dinner was cooked for us before settling in for the evening. Before sunrise they gave us a bike ride to the lookout point and had breakfast ready with a delicious homemade tea to send us off. We would happily stay again if we were in the area.

Owners are great and helpful! Very welcoming. Always offered help. Bed is comfortable. Sheets and towels are clean. Grab riders/drivers have no issues locating the place so all is good! Also contactable via whatsapp and response is generally quick! Will come back again.

In 10 days of traveling around Java I had not stayed in a place that was so nice to be inside. The room was terrifically clean, the size ample, the air conditioner worked well, there was hot water, and a nice porch out front. My only suggestion would be to place a wall mounted electric fan on the front porch so that guests can be outside more comfortably

Good location, several OK restaurants nearby. Beware of the junk food outlets. Walking is feasible in Magelang! Little side streets are peaceful. Not that there is much to see or do here, but two jumbo volcanoes loom nearby and can be visited. Rooms are clean but on the bleak side. Bathroom basic. Efficient new AC. Slept well. McDonald's close but Coffeeville down the road is much nicer.

    Very nice homestay, with excellent owners who were very accommodating and helpful during my stay. Excellent tradition local breakfast every day, they were helpful with lending me a scooter to visit Borobudur . It was a peaceful village outside the main tourist attraction surrounded by rice fields and vegetables farms. They even took me to a local tofu facility to see how they produced some excellent soy. They made me feel like it was my home also, can’t say enough about their kindness.

    Lovely host, woke before 5am to take us to the sunset point on motorbikes with her husband. Prepared meals for us and organized tour around the village. Her food was very delicious and her homestay tidy and spacious.
