Homestays in Sungailembu

Our stay was one of the highlights of our 2-months Indonesia trip. Java Turtle Lodge is an exceptionally beautiful place to stay at where they look after you and want you to have the best experience. Our villa was clean & comfy, showers were hot, food was delicious and the garden is actually my dream garden with a fish pond and hammocks. We had an amazing time on our Sukamade turtle trip. In all honesty, this was the most expensive trip we paid for on our trip, but it was so worth it. First we visited Green Bay for a little hike & swim, then we had a fun 2 hours jeep ride, deep in nature, to Sukamade beach. Later, we went to the beach to spot turtles who might come to lay their eggs. We were not lucky to see one in action, but we followed her way back into the ocean. We spent the night at the national park rangers’ post, which was a minimal room but had everything we needed. And the best thing… we released baby turtles in the morning. Everyone included in this trip was genuine and treated animals fairly. A much recommended stay and trip!

The place looks amazing. The room was clean and spacious, and its view is on a beautiful garden. Sri is very nice and helpful. Breakfast is very good. The beach is 2 minutes walking. We definitely recommend this place!

The hostess helps arrange everything—excellent drivers and guides who will bring you to the homestay or take you anywhere in Indonesia and show you some of the most extraordinary places on earth. As if that weren’t enough, she creates authentic culinary wonders of Indonesian cuisine, tailored to your preferences—whether you prefer meat dishes or a vegetarian diet. All this comes at very low prices—even compared with other local homestays. Adventure Turtle Homestay Meru Betiri is one of the most remarkable places I have ever been, and I would love to come back.

I arrived from Ijen, kinda sick and tired, but then I arrived at Red beach homestay. Here I could relax and regain energy. David (the host and owner) showed me around in the area. You truly get the feeling of joining the moana movie at this point. I stayed for an extra nigth just because of the vibes. Should’ve stayed longer. David cares about his place and guests! Beach is also great for beginner surfers. Amazing to go to the islands just south of the beach

We liked everything, it is well located, it has a good quality-price ratio but above all the kindness of the workers.

The guesthouse is located in a beautiful garden - through huge windows of your spacious room you can admire how well maintained it is. The area has a nice swimming pool with cooling water and sunbeds. Rooms are specious and super clean. Aris and his wife Lisa run this place with a lot of love, what you can especially feel in the delicious food they serve and the conversations you exchange :) thanks to their hospitality and help with organizing our trip to Meru Beitiri and Sukamade Beach we came back home with unforgettable memories. Do ask Aris about Sukamade and do not leave Kalibaru without going there.
