I opened the door and immediately said "WOW'. It was like I had walked into a good quality hotel. Wished I was staying days. Blown away. Beds... Arhhhh zzzzz. Bathroom, very nice. Room size, spacious with study alcove. Decorated, with style. The common area was nice and comfy, with all facilities you need.

We loved everything about our stay. It was the perfect historical setting. The grounds were so beautiful to walk, watch the swans, or sit at the big window (if raining) and enjoy the gardens. It’s still close enough to town to see the sites or take a tour then return to a relaxing home. Sharing a house and meeting other travelers was a bonus. Most of all, we enjoyed our evening with the host (Mark) and his son (Harry) sharing stories. We highly recommend staying at the Shannon River House.

We’d stay for a night The property is overlooking the river. Mary is very kind pleasant and heartwarming to us and it’s a biggest treat for our Bella. She’d make sure that we have everything we need from a simple treat inside the room to our walks and meals arounds town. The property is very clean and comfortable near to all your needs walking distances few minutes to shops, restaurants and Killaloe River cruise site. Mary has a small dog in the house but never a bother with our Bella we slept through out the night.Thank you so much Mary, hopefully to see you again.

The locality is beautiful, the room looks good and Sheelagh the landlady was so warm and welcoming. The complimentary breakfast was very thoughtful and kind. The location was superb once we found out that driving up and down was easy (seeing as the drivers in Ireland are so considerate). However, Sheelagh needs to brush up on her recommendations (sorry Sheelagh, JP Clarkes food was awful).

Kingfisher Lodge is a charming pub full of character, situated in the beautiful small town of Castleconnell. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the publican, Paddy, who made us feel right at home. The room was perfectly comfortable and warm, and the facilities clean and tidy. Paddy provided us with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and we very much enjoyed his company at the bar! He even introduced us to his pet dog named Bruce Springsteen, who we were very happy to meet. Kingfisher Lodge is Paddy’s home, and it is clearly a very special place to him and his community. We feel very lucky that we stumbled across this little gem, and would recommend it to anyone for an unforgettable experience.

Superb location if you drive. Troy studio is less than 15 mins drive away. Close to Lidl, gas station. Also saw a Bus Éireann stop cross the road. Very chill hosts. Ray is experienced and welcoming! i.e. The room is clean. Bed linen and towel are freshly washed with nice smell of sun. But you don't feel the pressure of having to pick up every single hair you drop on the floor. Great price - Better than anything you can find here if you're on tight budget. Comfy bed and pillow just like I was sleeping at my own home! Plenty parking space at front of the house. Quiet and peaceful area. Clean bathroom - Have hot water all the time with strong water pressure. I sure took a good shower! I'd highly recommend this place if you drive far to work at Troy Studio. Overall I have to recommend this place. It perfectly matches my need. I'll definitely come back next time if I'm working at the studio again.
