Arun was an excellent host and extremely helpful. The room was comfortable and had excellent air conditioning. The homestead is in a great location on the back waters and Arun organised a canoe to pick us up directly outside. There was a lovely veranda to sit out. We had good home cooked Keralan food.

Our stay at Mundro Garden Homestay was amazing. Deepa and her family were so welcoming and kind. We were always greeted with a smile and a positive attitude. The room was very comfortable and clean and was located in a nice quiet, private corner of the garden. The table and chairs outside offered a great space to relax and eat meals. The homestay offers bicycle rental at a very reasonable 200 rupees per day. The food prepared every day was amazing! Everything we ate was delicious, and we enjoyed trying all of the local Keralan dishes that Deepa and her family made. You must also take the boat tour, it really showcases the beauty of the island. Overall, we absolutely love this homestay and will definitely return if we come back to Kerala!

5 years after my last visit, the family has grown, Akhil has now a wonderful wife and baby son, the Homestay as well with 2 additionnal rooms, and still the same kindness, still the same attention and care, the same hospitality, the same peace and quiet, and the same beautiful healthy food cooked with love by Kala. A gem of a homestay and a gem of a host. From the moment we came to the property, it felt like a little slice of paradise tucked away right next to the water, abs beautiful home away from home! Location is spot on and the owner Suresh was also nice enough to give us his two bicycles for us to explore the island freely. Plenty of space inside and out, all well maintained. Great, homely area outside on the veranda to chill and have food/tea/coffee, which the family is always more than happy to prepare. Suresh will work hard every day to ensure we had everything we needed, including canoe ride, booking transport and also a ride on his very own motorbike around the island's more tucked away corners. We def recommend this homestay to anyone coming to Munroe Island and we hope to return again.

If you're looking for somewhere relaxing to enjoy the Kerala Backwaters, this is the place to stay! The family provides delicious meals and are more than happy provide extra information about what you're eating and also about the local area. It is easy to arrange activities such as canoe rides, bikes or kayaks with them, but also, if you can also laze about by the rivers edge, spotting wildlife or reading - highly recommended! They were extremely responsive via Whatsapp and were very helpful when we had some transport issues getting to and from their place. Would definitely come stay again!

My stay at this homestay on Munroe Island was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment | arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. The highlight of the experience was undoubtedly the host, Appu. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the island — its history, culture, wildlife, and the hidden gems that most tourists never get to see. Appu went above and beyond to make sure every part of my stay was comfortable and enriching. Whether it was guiding us through serene backwater canoe rides, sharing fascinating stories about the island's traditions, or introducing us to delicious local food, he made every moment special. The homestay itself is peaceful, clean, and surrounded by nature, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind.
