Really good value for money, especially for the area. The location was literally perfect for us, around a 5-10 minute walk into the centre but exceptionally quiet around the homestay. Lots of pretty birds as there is a tree farm/forst across the road. Spacious room. Nice family run restaurant next door. The host was really really very kind and made us feel very welcome. She also gave us some great advice :)

Absolutely the best Homestay and home in Thekaddy. The Homestay owner - Lawrence is extremely helpful and one of the most genuine people I have ever met . He would go out of his way to make your trip n stay wonderful. The best host with Rajesh and his wife too. She makes excellent breakfast and black tea / coffee too. If any help is needed related to sightseeing or any outdoor activities, Lawrence will set it up and make it absolutely perfect. Beat for family, kids and even solo ppl who want to enjoy a quiet time without any rush or worry. The greenery around is captivating and best part is that it feels like home . I will be coming back in December to do major treks again. Thanks a lot to Lawrence , Rajesh and his wife . Do opt for off roading which will be 4-5 hours in jeep and it is definitely worth it.

Our room was spacious and nice, the balcony facing the spice plantation and fruit trees was lovely. The tour through the spice garden was more informative and the plants in better shape than in spice plantations we toured otherwise. The breakfast was delicious, but for one dinner we were lucky enoguh to have the best veg biryani we've had in our entire lives.

I booked doubled deluxe room C and was so delighted with the experience - the room was large and well furnished with a balcony overlooking the tiger reserve. It was perfectly located a ten minute walk from the meeting point for my trek in the reserve. It was beautifully clean and the host was extremely helpful. I only wish I could have stayed longer!

Excellent location as very close to tourist booking office for periyar tiger reserve and only a short 10mins walk to either entrance of park. Town and bus station again all well within 10mins walk or host is fantastic at organising tuk tuk for any trips. Host organised driver to go visit tea and spice plantations. Also great to organise a breakfast for different morning times to suit anyone trekking. He was a guide for over 10years in the reserve so well informed. Even kept bags and gave room to freshen up after our over nights camping in the reserve. Best stay by far for our month's trip in india. David & Aislinn (Ireland)

    Beautiful homestay in the mountains. Nice rooftop to be sociable and great host. Clean and comfortable rooms with bathroom. Close to the centre and national park. Great breakfast available made by the host with lots of options. Would 100% recommend staying at Mountain View.

    Ferndale is a great place to stay. Located in a lush and quiet neighbourhood. Dexter and Debby have been very thoughtful hosts. I highly recommand Ferndale if you're looking for a homestay in the Kumily / Thekaddy area.

    The host Mr. Shyam was very helpful in organising the trip and he assisted us very well. The homestay was very calm and located a bit away from chaiotic main town. Clean rooms and easy enterly happy with the stay and service. We were given access to cook food for ourself as we took our 5 month old child.

    The host Mr. Abbas is a very good and polite human. Everything was perfect as per price. Room and toilet were clean and equipped with hot water facilities. Room was spacious and well comfort. I must recommend this homestay if you are a budget traveler and wanting a homely environment.

    The best homestay you could find in India. Very clean, comfortable rooms and a lovely rooftop social area. Afsal is a fantastic host. He makes you feel at home immediately. He has good knowledge of activities in the area and is well respected by the locals. Like most guests, we wanted to extend our stay, and we were sad to leave. I highly recommend 👌

    I loooved my stay at Konark homestay. Rani and her husband are great hosts and trust me you will want to book this place for the views alone! The sun sets beautifully over the nature reserve which is right on the boarder of the back of the homestay. Also I think they improved their wifi because I had no issues, I was also able to upload a very large video file within 2 hours. If I come back to Kumily I will book here again. Water in shower gets hot and the bed is comfortable as well.
