We loved our stay at Leisure Mount View. We booked 3 nights but stayed 4 as there was so much to do in the area and the hotel was fabulous. THE FOOD: We ate 3 dinners and 4 breakfasts at the hotel. The buffet dinner was delicious and offered more choice than anywhere else we've been in Sri Lanka. We also ordered from the menu one evening and the chicken biriyani was our favourite! The breakfast buffet was huge. On order were hoppers, toast with butter and jam, dahl, various sweet cakes, coconut string hoppers, as well as a lovely selection of fruit, fresh juices and tea/coffee. We were also offered eggs cooked however we liked. THE VIEW: Our big bedroom overlooked the incredible view of tea plantation fields and mountains. Each morning we opened the curtains and watched the sunrise. Beautiful. THE HOSPITALITY: Hashan and his team couldn't have done more for us. A printed folder, which included various local activities, including hikes, attractions (e.g Lipton Seat), massages, and a cooking class, was available at the reception to help plan our itinerary. We did the cooking class with Hashan's aunty and we loved it. We also enjoyed our chats with Hashan who shared lots of information about Sri Lankan life, culture and food. We were made to feel like we were more like old friends and not hotel guests.

The hosts were super friendly and helpful, absolutely lovely people. The food was amazing and freshly cooked to order. Saman was there for us throughout the stay and even gave us a lift into town when we needed it. Rooms were spacious and clean, balconies have stunning views of the valley. Absolutely recommend!

We visited Horton Plains and were looking for a place that felt safe, peaceful, and like home — and Tea Sprig Villa Boralanda was the perfect find! This is one of the newest and safest villas in the area, and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. We stayed for 2 nights, and what made this place even more special is that we were their very first guests — what an honor! 🙏 The family running the villa is super friendly, warm, and caring. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and made with so much love. The clean fresh air, hot water, and beautiful surroundings made us feel like we were in heaven. This place is quiet, clean, and perfect for anyone looking to relax and recharge. We’re so grateful for the hospitality and unforgettable experience. We will definitely come again. Staying at Sana’s Homestay was a really lovely part of our time in Sri Lanka. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was outstanding—Sana and his family were so kind and thoughtful. His mother is an amazing cook, and her tea quickly became our favorite! The room was perfect for us: clean, cozy, with a private bathroom and its own entrance, which made it feel like our own little retreat. The views from the property are absolutely breathtaking—waking up to the misty hills of Haputale was unforgettable. Few things to note: • The road to the homestay isn’t well marked on Google Maps, so it’s best to contact as you get close—the host is super helpful and will make sure you find it without any trouble. • There is parking if you have a tuktuk or bike • There are a few up steps to get to the property. If you're after a quiet, scenic, and genuine experience in the hill country, this is the place!

It was a very special stay at Mandakini Villa. All the family members were so kind and gave a very warm welcome and they tried to make everything possible for me. I felt very welcome. The hospitality was so special and the food was also delicious! It was one of the best stays and encounters I have had in Sri Lanka. Even after I checked out, I was looked after very well. The location is incredible, very secluded and quiet with a great view. I can highly recommend a stay here. Many thanks for everything!
