Homestays in Mawanella

I had an absoulutely beautiful experience staying at Mystay. Hosts were incredibly attentive to anything I needed, they were always available to provide great info about nearby spots and prices. While Mawanella in not a main tourist hotspot there are some gorgeous spots to explore if you like nature such as river with waterfalls, several hiking spots and trekking paths through the rainforest, it is an awesome location for nature lovers. Also, it's proximity to Kandy and Elefant sanctuary puts you in a great location to explore surrounding attractions. Hosts were always able to arrange local transport to wherever I needed to go and for amazing (local) price, can't thank them enough. Breakfast was wonderful, home made and super tasty. They also provided fruit and tea for my relaxing time, also plenty of bottled water all the time. Place is very spaceous and comfortable with garden around the house, there is also a lovely erected area, like a treehouse, for you to enjoy, that is surrounded with greenery, a great place to just relax and see some birds etc. All in all, a wonderful family that I'm happy to have met and I'm so thankful for all their help with information and transport. Hope I'll be able to stay there again sometines in the future.

A very warm welcome from Anushka and his family. The unique clay house with its unusual shower was very comfortable to stay in. Beautiful plants all around and a pet rabbit added to the charm. The dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious and traditional. Anushka was always ready to help and give advice. Thank you very much for the wonderful moments!

Gluten free meal available,it's gorgeous breakfast of Hotel I've ever seen. They are so kind!! Wi-Fi level/Excellent Clean,Hot water available. AC is nice.

The rooms were lovely and clean. The property is beautiful with surrounding trees. Hosts are helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Great value for money :)

We spent 4 days at this amazing place surrounded by nature. The room was spacious and very clean. The terrace had beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Just 15 minutes’ drive from Kandy town and was a perfect stopover on our way to Ella. The hosts were friendly and extremely obliging. They served us delicious breakfast. Highly recommended.

The breakfast was not the same each day, made from western and local dishes. Delisious. Organic fruits from the garden. Fresh coconut! The room and all the place were sparkling clean and comfortable. Very green, with a view, relaxing, birds, each time we were happy to go back there after sightseeing. The garden is beautiful and well cared for. Kumar was very, very helpful and friendly, he found a solution to every question that we asked him. Very clean and very good internet. He found to us aa very good driver and organised our trip to the next destination. One day we hope to come again, to enjoy the place and to see him again.

We loved staying at Kushana and Purnima's home sooo much! They felt like true family to us. And i am including their lovely pets, cats and lovely sweetest dog Bella. I enjoyed playing with Bella so much! Thank you Bella, you are truely also a much appreciated member of the staff and did an amazing job! This just added to the comfy feeling of home and relaxation. There were also cute and funny monkeys that we could observe right from our rooms. One monkey got in our room so just a heads up, do close your door when you're not there because they take your stuff. The rooms were in a lovely antique style and very clean, also energetically clean as i am very sensitive to how the energy is somewhere. You could feel that everything they do for their guests is done with a lot of care, love and attention. Every day they prepared an amazing fresh breakfast from their own garden, so very healthy! And we could even order food for dinner. They made the dinner. Kushana drove us to various beautiful places and even went a whole day and waited for us while we were there. Talk about patience!:) The house is located on walking distance from various nice restaurants, also suited for vegetarians. And close to the town Kandy. But in a silent area, the only sounds we heard were monkeys, criquets and sometimes dogs barking. I slept sooo peacefully. There is also a fridge in the shared area and the view from the balcony is just amazing, we sat there a lot and could watch the stars and fireflies at night. So, to conlude, it was truelly a magical and wonderful experience. The service here is even better then you often get in a 5 star hotel. And you won't get generally this kind of genuine attention and hospitality in most hotels. This is the true meaning of hospitality from the heart. I will definitely return here some day!

We only stayed for 1 night but from the moment we entered the door, it was like being at home with family. The house is beautiful and Ayesha and her family were so kind! They fed us an amazing feast for dinner and breakfast the next day, some of the best food we have had in Sri Lanka. The views from the house are incredible, peace and quiet away from the bustle of Kandy, although only a short drive in if you want to go to the lake, temples etc.
