A newly built cute little family owned place. The mom and son are new to hosting guests and were very dedicated to making us feel comfortable. They welcomed us with tea and cake. They were very sweet and the place was comfortable. It is very conveniently located close to a tea estate. 10 minutes walk to the railway station and a 15-minute leisurely walk to Nanu Oya Falls. The place is also away from the touristy area and so you get an authentic view into the daily life of locals. The locals were also very friendly, and everyone would smile and wave. The mom got up very early next morning to make us a cup of tea and see us off as we were boarding the first train to Colombo.

Definitely our best accommodation in Sri Lanka. Both the room and the bathroom are super clean, comfortable, and well maintained - extra points for the high water pressure and hot water. Shan and his Mam gave such a warm welcome upon arriving into Nuwara Eliya after a long train journey. They are kind, welcoming and extremely attentive to every detail and it truly feels like a home away from home. Shan was always on hand for any needs or requests. The tour he arranged of the nearby tea plantation, waterfalls and secret view point was a highlight and reasonably priced. My room was tastefully decorated and extra cosy with the comfortable bed and thick blankets. The traditional Sri Lankan breakfast prepared by Daphne was amazing, I will miss those honey rottis for breakfast! I highly recommend Rustique House to anyone looking for a cozy place to stay in Nuwara Eliya. Shan, thank you for a great stay and opening up your family home to guests. You should be very proud of the wonderful home stay you have created!

We were warmly welcomed by the owner of the guesthouse. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated – really comfortable. The owner was extremely kind and gave us great advice about nearby restaurants. He was also very helpful with practical tips, especially regarding the train. His suggestion to board the train one station earlier to secure a seat was absolutely brilliant. We truly enjoyed our stay in Nuwara Eliya. Highly recommended!

Amazing place! The accommodation was clean and beautiful. Rajith was super nice and helped us organising our days in Nuwara Eliya. He even prepared us the breakfast to take away for the trekking. The location is 10 min by tuk tuk from the city centre.
