Homely hotel more than a homestay!  'Homestay' suggested to us living as part of the family, but the description sounded more like a hotel and restaurant so we booked it, and I'm glad we did. Beatrix, our host, was very welcoming and friendly, always ready to help, and with a smile. Despite all our enquiries, the only transport we could find from Baguio to Banaue was overnight and arrived at 4am. Even though it was so early, Beatrix immediately sent Mark to pick us up, and even offered us a hot drink upon arrival. Thankfully, she knew of a daytime van for our return to Bagiou, and arranged our tickets. The daytime minibus was very comfortable, picked us up from the homestay, and dropped us off at our hotel (Bloomfield near the SM centre) in Baguio. Nothing was too much trouble for her, including arranging laundry and sewing jobs. Fully recommend the two private guided trips Beatrix organised for us to see various UNESCO rice terraces. Each of our two guides were knowledgeable and personable, making each trip very interesting and enjoyable. Even wet weather on the first day didn't spoil our experience. We had breakfast and dinner at the homestay each day because the food was fresh, delicious and sufficient quantity. Superb view of terraces from our shared balcony and from the restaurant. Our room had two doubles beds, a small double shelf, and not much additional floor space, so we used the second bed to leave our open cases on. The shower was warm enough but had no cubicle or curtain so the water needed mopping up afterwards. However, cleaning implements were conveniently located on the balcony, which also had a covered washing line and clothes pegs. Extremely clean everywhere. Highly recommend.  As an earlier reviewer said it is rustic so go with the flow and enjoy Banaue Homestay.

Property is in amazing place - you can face the main Batad’s rice terrasses from Rita’s Inn place. But the main thing - that after spending 2nights there - you start to feel like at home. Germina ( Rita’s daughter) who is actually running the place - is making fantastic home made food, arraning guides, massages. So my suggestion - go there for 2 or 3 nights, enjoy the place , take the tours with a guides and enjoy massage in the evening. Everything with affordable price and you get not just a service , but a community and family feeling. And talk with Germina’s father Romeo - He is the star of Lonely Planet book and really amazing old man (Happiest man on earth that I have met). Go to this place and you will not be dissapointed, but only really loved!

Staff did above and beyond to accommodate our stay. Provided us advice on where to go to tour Banaue, offered transportation means on where we want to go, and Provided us a very courteous guide for our tour. Very clean guesthouse. A simple breakfast is included. There’s a nice little terrace with a lot of plants. Elma is very nice and organized us transportation and tours. She proposes dinner. We had nice chats and talked about her life, the homestay and local customs (Moma chewing…)

The hosts were very welcoming, they helped with organising a day tour to the Batad Rice Terraces, where we had an amazing time admiring the view and bathing in the waterfall at the end of the trail. The food was very good, with an incredible variety of options, and it was very cheap as well! We had a great view in the morning, and the air was so fresh! The road there was very good (we travelled by car) and we were able to park our car in a garage very close to the hotel - which made us feel very safe, especially since it was a rental.

Absolutely stunning view, great food and the first warm shower after 3 weeks stay at Philippines. A great remote area with an adventurous hike if you arrive at night. Very warm, welcoming and caring hosts. Small site advise: Bring enough cash, there is no ATM available in this lovely village.

I can only recommend Tessa and Tani's home if you search a place to stay in Banaue. Everything is clean, the room are simple but it's a good quality for price and they take feedback of guest into account so they can improve. Also it's a really central location so it's very convenient for everything.  But the best part is more the hosts themself. They are the niciest persons we've met in our trip in Luzon. Really welcoming, interesting discussions, funny and always taking care of their guests. Also Tani is a guide and I do recommend doing a tour or a trek with him. We chose a 2 days / 1 night trek from Banaue to Batad with my friend and it was an awesome experience. Of course the landscapes are already insane, but also having Tani as a guide was super cool. A serious guide who shared a lot of information, with whom you can have really interesting conversations about everything during the walk, and also many funny moments. We spend 2 beautiful days and if we come back we will be happy to do it again with him. Last point : the price of the tour was fair, especially compared to some insane offers we saw.  Tani, Tessa, thank you again for everything!

    People working there are very nice. Got picked up in the middle of the night and also brought to the bus very early in the morning. They arranged my tours very well. You can order food from the homestay and they will cook for you (was tasty), you pay at the end of the stay. The view is amazing!

    The Rice Homestay has good views from its large common area. The lady that cleans and cooks was nice. Unfortunately, the Inn doesn’t really have a manager. The staff has to call the owner who makes decisions for them. My first night in Banaue was at Savta Homestay, only 3 mins walking. The owner family ran the beautiful Inn and that makes a world of difference.

    For the price the Homestay is really great! Bambino was very helpful and friendly. The view from the Homestay is gorgeous too! Easy to organise tours from the Homestay and transport. Food available on site too. It’s not 5 star accommodation but for the price in this remote area it was amazing!

    Very nice place! Comfortable room, hot shower, friendly staff and delicious food! It's only a short walk to the city centre. The rice terraces of Hapao and Batad are less than 1 hour drive from the homestay.

    It is all about location, at the edge of the Batad cluster of the UNESCO designated Cordillera Rice Terraces. A bit of a challenging path leading to the guesthouse, but then it all opens up like an amphitheater, right from the bedroom. Nicely prepared meals, ice cold beers. Very friendly host family.

    The staff was very accommodating and super friendly. Since the Homestay is 40 steps below street level, one of the employees carries our bags down the steps and back up when we left The bed was also very comfortable!
