This is really a wonderful place, super clean, cozy but with good common areas, amazing comfortable beds and warm at night. Safe location and easy to walk up the nearby hill right into the center of downtown Castro. It was always very quiet here, especially at night. A nice experience to stay in a palofito (stick house).

Set in Puerto Varas, Los Lagos region, Hostel Casa Apel is situated a 19-minute walk from El Paseo Pier. Among the various facilities of this property are a garden, a terrace and a shared lounge. I love the people here, from the staff/volunteers to the guests. I love the cleanliness I love the bed, oh that's the comfiest hostel bunk bed I have ever slept and I am now not being extra LMAO I love the bathroom, it's so SPACIOUS I love the environment even they have a park in the back! This is a special message for the volunteers, there are two: that one Argentine man (I am really bad at remembering name) and a spanish girl named Alba, you guys are very kind... the Argentine is very bubbly and he let me stay for some hours extension for free only for waiting for my bus. And Alba, she is a sweet Catalunya girl. We had a lot of things to chit-chat and she loves to paint. If you stay here and see the paintings of two mountains in a section behind the reservation, that's what she did. To these two people, if you read this, I wanna say, it would be a pleasure to meet you and thank you for giving me a memorable ending for my Chile trip even tho it's only one-night moment.
