I met great people at the villa who soon became travel buddies and are now friends. Giorgio was wonderful, answering any questions, making sure I had everything I needed. If you do yoga / meditation there is a beautiful sanctuary set up on the grounds where you can practice. Absolutely sublime! I had the most amazing trip and Villa Clarissa was a big part of that.

Small wonder so many expats living elsewhere in the DR stay there regularly when in the capital. Evidently you can't expect 5star luxury for 21 € per night, but all is comfy, the retro decor funky and the large shared balcony an additional plus for relaxation. Great to have a private fridge and kitchen access, though we only used it to make coffee during our short stint. Thanks again for waiting until 1 a.m. because our flight was late.
