My stay at 1844 Suites Syros in Ermoupoli was nothing short of extraordinary, thanks to the exceptional hospitality of Kostas and the stunning charm of his beautifully restored neoclassical gem. This hotel, nestled in the heart of Ermoupoli, is a perfect blend of historic elegance and modern luxury, housed in a building from 1844 that exudes Cycladic charm with its high-quality finishes and tasteful decor. The location is absolutely ideal—just steps from the vibrant Miaouli Square, the ferry port, and a delightful array of cafes, shops, and restaurants, yet tucked away on a quiet street that ensures peace and tranquility. The architecture of Ermoupoli, with its pastel-hued neoclassical mansions and marble-paved streets, felt like stepping into a living postcard, and 1844 Suites is perfectly positioned to soak it all in. Kostas, the owner, is the heart and soul of this experience. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us with genuine warmth, personally guiding us to our impeccably clean and stylish suite. The room was a dream—featuring a supremely comfortable bed with luxurious linens, a modern bathroom with a fantastic shower, and thoughtful touches like a complimentary minibar and coffee machine. Kostas went above and beyond, taking the time to share the rich history of Syros, which brought the town’s stunning architecture to life. His passion for the island was infectious, making every story about Ermoupoli’s grand mansions and cultural landmarks feel like a personal gift. His recommendations were spot-on, leading us to unforgettable experiences. He pointed us to local treasures like the Apollo Theater and Saint Nicholas Church, both architectural marvels. But the real highlight was his restaurant suggestions—every place he recommended served mouthwatering dishes that showcased Syros’ culinary brilliance. Each meal was a celebration of authentic Greek cuisine, perfectly complementing the island’s vibrant food scene.

Set on a pedestrian street in a historic location, the family-run Ethrion is 150 metres from Ermoupolis Port and the main square. The location of the accommodation was in the perfect area close to restaurants, cafes, and the main centre. George, our host gave us recommendations to restaurants which all were fantastic and places to see on the island and the best way to get there! The room was clean and spacious with great views. Will definitely stay again!

The room, the view, and the hosts were all absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, we could only stay for one night, but we definitely wished we could have stayed much longer! 🥹 Giannis picked us up at the harbor and was incredibly generous with his time, knowledge, and hospitality. He truly knows his town and the area like no one else! We’ll never forget his kindness, his vibes, and we’re definitely coming back. Maria was equally amazing, and together they made our stay unforgettable. Syros has definitely captured our hearts—the people, the landscapes, everything! It’s genuinely special, and we can’t recommended it enough to everyone we know. Can’t wait for our next visit! Thank you again!

Our stay was great! The host came to pick us up at the port and before heading to the accomodation, he showed us some places where to go. He also took us for the departure. Very kind of his! A "detail" that made the difference: we had fresh water every day after coming back to the accomodation at night. Thanks to the host and the cleaning people. I recommend a stay here 😊
