At the homestay, each unit is fitted with bed linen and towels. I was in love with the people who run Kaesa Home Stay, they were so friendly from the first moment. They explained to us how to move around and solve all our questions, they were always willing to help us, even I got a wound in my leg and Ipul had no problem to ride me to the hospital and be with me all the time to help me to understand each other, I would never forget that :). I highly recommend this stay not only for the location and the facilities, but overall for the people who work there and the wonderful atmosphere you can get, thanks to all the travelers who pick this home stay. Alek and Nabil are really great hosts who are Bukit Lawang's second best feature after the orangutans! The balcony has a lovely view out over the river and the location is perfect in amongst the locals.

A recently renovated guest house situated in Bukit Lawang, Kupu Kupu Garden Guest House & Cafe features a garden. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony. Guests can make use of the sun terrace or the outdoor fireplace, or enjoy views of the mountain and river. This is a wonderful guest house in a peaceful location, a 30 minute walk along the river. Porters are available for a small fee. A fabulous view into the jungle. Arif, Riski and the girls in the kitchen provide a friendly, laid-back atmosphere and create amazing meals. All the guests eat dinner together, a great communal experience. Some of the rooms have outside jungle bathrooms. Staying here was the highlight of our trip to Indonesia.
