Kaesa was so friendly and welcoming - he was incredibly attentive and helpful, despite the guesthouse being full. He will help to organise anything that you need. All of his local recommendations for food were excellent! The room itself was much nicer than in the photos. All the essential things you want are done well here: the bed and pillows are very comfortable, the room was very clean, the WiFi worked well, the bathroom was clean and had a good shower. The laundry service was excellent and breakfast was tasty. They have thought of everything here and are very well organised!

Lovely place ran by a very nice family and their team in a peaceful little village not far from Bukit lewang. They arranged my jungle Trek as soon as I arrived which was perfect. Waking up to rice fields and mountain views, what more could you wish for?

A recently renovated guest house set in Tuk Tuk, Hub Tata Guesthouse features a garden. The property features lake views. In good weather, guests are welcome to sit outside.

This is one of the nicest places (guesthouses) I have ever stayed on my travels. I had 1 of the 2 rooms downstairs right by the water, get up and from your bed you have a view of the lake and the mountains.  Fantastic owner Nia but also a very good and friendly team behind her give you a very welcome feeling right away. I really can't say anything negative about this accommodation. Please note that this is a guesthouse, not a 5* luxury hotel.  The small beautifully maintained garden and all the plants everywhere contribute to a very nice atmosphere.  Please note that the rooms downstairs are more difficult to reach for people who are not very mobile due to the steep stairs (15 steps). There are rooms higher up but of course they lack the charm of staying close to the water.  The restaurant of this guesthouse (with a very nice view) is also worth it. A few special things on the menu but super tasty; definitely try the immune booster. The best restaurants for dinner for me (Hub Tata restaurant closes at 7PM) are on the other side of Tuktuk (15-20 minutes walk) but you can also rent a scooter at Nia.  I would have liked to stay longer but the room was fully booked so book in advance and keep in mind that the Samosir peninsula is so nice that you will probably want to stay longer than planned.

The tour with Jhony and Lana was great! They made sure everything was in order and made sure I felt comfortable. We spotted some orang utans and other monkeys, the food was good, and the overnight place was good as well. The accommodation at Jhony in Bukit Lawang itself is perfect as well, everything you need. Jhony makes sure you get everything that you need, and also helps you out with your further travels.

Everything was wonderful. The location overlooking the river from your balcony is amazing. The room is basic but for the prize it is fantastic value. Apart from the fantastic view you get a super comfy bed, a big mosqito net (without holes :-), a bathroom and toilet (cold water), a fan and WIFI in the room - which I was not expecting. But above all Alex and his family are exellent hosts and you feel very velcome. Alex arranged transport for me to and from Bukit Lawang. I would really recommend this transport (shared tourist taxi) and of course the main thing: Alex arranged a two day trek for me. It vas amazing with lots of wild life including orangutans.

With mountain views, Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa is situated in Bukit Lawang and has a restaurant, full-day security, bar, garden, sun terrace and picnic area.
