They kindly explained the essence of Shingon teaching and how this temple stay was established. After the ritual, we had Buddhist breakfast together. It is located in a small community with a view of rice fields and green mountains. If you wish to stay in a unique quiet place in Sado and to get in touch with the local people, this is the perfect place to stay.

The spacious rooms are located on the 2nd floor of a very cute café run by the owners. It is well-equipped and maintained, very clean everywhere. In the morning, there was an amazing breakfast downstairs in the café. Definitely stay for breakfast, it was an absolute highlight! If you stay in Yuzawa, you should certainly visit.

What we cherished most is the special visit to Mr. Kawanaka, the local artist. It’s our pleasure to meet him and appreciate his artwork. Truly memorable journey. Thank you!

From the minute we got off the train in Myoko we were looked after. From organizing ski hire and lessons (at last minute), driving us to and from the resorts, to booking and shuttling us to dinner (and even joining us some nights), Dave and Lisa made us feel welcome. We even got a guided off-piste snow boarding tour of Madarao with Dave on a powder day. Kitsune has a relaxed and communal vibe which is in no small part the result of Dave and Lisa's caring approach to their guests. It was a truly unique and unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back Thanks Dave and Lisa.
