It matches exactly her descption on the booking site. The garden was very beautiful. The only sounds in this quiet neighborhood were the birds tui tui and blackbird on the early morning hours. The two beds in separate rooms, one of which was king size, were among best we have had on our journey. We were very satisfied. This is good value for your money.

It was so good that we stayed in every night for dinner to enjoy the view and location. We were exceptionally well hosted and the room was great value with breakfast and cheeses provided. Our experience with Karen at Paradise On the Strand surpassed all expectations... and after seeing the photos and reading the reviews, our expectations were high! This was the pinnacle of excellent lodging experiences during our 7 weeks in New Zealand. Karen provided just the right amount of friendly genuine engagement, and privacy. A short walk through the bush each morning took us to Long Beach to watch the sun rise, coffee in hand (coffee cart on beach). Sunsets were spectacular! BREAKFASTS were presented each day with abundance, freshness, creativity and variety; always delicious! Home-made yoghurt, honey from Karen's son's hives, AND warm bread just out of the oven for an afternoon tea surprise! We WILL return!
