Hostels in Dilijan

This is probably the best hostel in Armenia, with great facilities, cleanliness, generosity, and friendly staff. They offer free laundry and drying services, and I also enjoyed a rich free breakfast when I stayed there. But I would like to say something to future guests. This hostel is very generous, as a guest, just enjoy this generosity, but please cherish it and don't abuse it. Because during my stay, I saw some guests abuse the laundry service many times. One time they only had a few small underwear, which didn't look dirty at all, but chose a program of over 2 hours; another time they had two bath towels, one large and one small, and also chose a program of over 2 hours. This is definitely an abuse of the free service provided by the hostel. For myself, I don't use the laundry service so frequently, I only use it when I have enough clothes to wash and I always chose the program of less than 1 hour because normally my clothes wouldn't be that dirty. In fact, if you abuse any benefits, it seems that you don't need to pay, but from a deeper level, it is actually consuming your own blessings. It is equivalent to you owe the hostel, and God will make you repay it in the future. So, never abuse anything, because that's your own thing, no matter it appears to be yours or not.

I liked the following in the Hostel La Casa Dilijan: 1) Staff: Vaha, hostel caretaker was very friendly and helpful. 2) Location: Hostel is located centrally up in the hill, 5 minutes of walking distance to/from the roundabout road, city park with pond, supermarket with pharmacy and central bus station. Dilijan National Park is about 30 minutes of walking distance from the hostel. Be aware about bears and other wild animals in the park. I saw fresh fingerprint of bear’s paw in the Dilijan National Park. But I have to say that it was not easy to find the hostel in the beginning. Local people tried to help me around one hour to find this hostel and multiple times called hostel phone number +374-77-68-88-94 indicated in my booking confirmation and nobody picked up the phone. Same happened to another traveller. Later, when I finally found this hostel, I told hostel team about this situation. One man (I assume hostel owner) said that it’s necessary to delete that phone number from the booking.com website. 3) Capsule bed: It was my very first experience of capsule bed. I was provided lower bed as asked. Hostel manager provided clean towel, bedsheet, pillow and blanket covers which was great as I don’t have my own towel. 4) Kitchen: I was great to have a kitchen as I used it actively. I cooked my own meal. Kitchen has everything needed: fridge, microwave, gas stove, electric kettle, cups, plates etc. 5) Laundry service: There is a washing machine in the kitchen. I used it once and washed all my clothes for 500 AMD. 6) Other services: Hostel offers wine, rent of scooter and bicycle for separate payment. 7) There is also L-shaped balcony/terrace with table and chair with picturesque mountain view and fresh air for morning coffee. Shower was a little bit tricky. Water speed is changing automatically from normal speed to fast speed or very low speed. What I can say: Hostel is the same as in the booking.com pictures. Friendly and helpful staff, nice atmosphere, clean and tidy place. Lake Sevan is nearby.
