Very professional Western-style hostel with all the amenities you need. Internet was good, staff was helpful and friendly. Location is convenient, walking distance from the centre and The Bund, but metro is just minues away if you don't feel like walking. I liked the self-service restaurant right next door, catering mostly for workers from neaby construction sites: food is 17-20 yuan, beer 4 yuan, and you can smoke inside like locals do.

The location, staff and the organization of the space in the room and hostel was perfect. Very close to the most sightseeing facilities. Staff was super friendly and helpful, would recommend to stay there. And totally it was worth for that money.

Dayin offers beds or private rooms. I liked my room because there was a window to let in fresh air, the shower cubicle is separate from the toilet and, best of all, the sink is outside of the shower & toilet, making it far more hygienic to fill a kettle. The staff were superb in giving directions in English, especially since I needed to attend Shanghai Hospital every day. The hostel is located near three metro stations!!
