I loved TamaHostel! I visited several hostels in Central America in the last months, and this was by far my favorite. The beds are comfortable and the dorm rooms have AC, the pool and hammocks amazing, the kitchen and bathrooms are practical and cleaned continuously, and the staff were super friendly and helpful! They can organise surf classes if you want :)

The location is perfect – just a 1-minute walk from the beach, where you can catch breathtaking sunsets every evening. The vibe of the hostel is relaxed, friendly, and super welcoming. A special shoutout to Juan, who went above and beyond to help me during my stay – especially when I needed to buy my Tica Bus ticket. He was incredibly kind, patient, and resourceful. If you're looking for a chill spot close to the ocean, with helpful staff and a great atmosphere, this is the place. Would definitely come back!

Perfect location, 5 mins from the beach. All the staff is really nice and helpful. They have a very good surf instructor on site. Beds are super comfortable and the room was really clean. The kitchen has everything you need and loads of storage space for your own food. Close to restaurants, bars, supermarkets and shops. The perfect stay in Tamarindo. We will definetly come back.

The owner of Tsunami Hostel helped us to get a shuttle on the same day. If he did not help us, we were not able to travel that day to our next stop. He is very kind and helpful. We also recived some of the mango’s out of his trees! We enjoyed our stay in Tsunami Hostel.

Very friendly staff and superwelcoming host Felipe! Very cosy pods to sleep in. Nice and clean facilities. Great breakfast. Surf lessons are provided with the best and most patient teacher Felipe.

What an amazing place! This was a fantastic location if you’re looking for a peaceful surf stay. The uncrowded and extremely consistent surf beach is right across the road and the property has an associated all day restaurant (Cafe Mar Azul) with fantastic food and drinks so you don’t have to look any further. As a solo female traveller the quiet gated community also ensured I felt safe throughout my stay, and the people - including the locals and the fantastic staff at both the property and the restaurant - made me feel right at home. The property also has surfboard rental and an amazing surf instructor if you’re looking to progress your surfing. Located within the national park there is also plenty of wildlife around - monkeys, raccoons, birds and skunks. And you can take an estuary tour to see the crocodiles. The property management are also able to assist in arranging transfers to the airport and a range of excursions. Lina was particularly helpful and readily available on-site for any questions and tips.

Marco, Alyssa, Erika and Josh we're amazing hosts. They made the 4 days go by way to quick. There is a big kitchen and a small pool to hop in after a surf session. All in all just a great Hostel.
