The host was very friendly and accommodating. The facilities were much nicer than I expected. I stayed in the dorm, and the space I was given was comfortable, roomy, and with a pull-down screen for privacy. As with any hostel, the others staying there can be noisy, and it seemed as though there was a lot of activity throughout the night. But it's to be expected. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with my stay.

We stayed here for one night and had a wonderful stay. The host was very generous as he dropped us off at an onsen and later picked us up in his car. It was our first onsen so we were very grateful he told us about it. Matsushiro is a hidden gem with lots of interesting history! The hostel was close to the bus stop - a one minute walk. And Matsushiro is only a 30 minute bus ride from Nagano. Also, the hostel is very clean and with only one dorm room felt like an intimate and genuine Japanese experience. ありがとうございます!
