The Aille River Tourist Hostel and Campsite Doolin has a range of private rooms for couples, family rooms and dorm rooms. I arrived late on a wet night and after a long trip, and it was wonderful to see the fireplace going, and to be welcomed by Richard. The location by the river and close to the pubs, bakery, restaurants and bus stop is great, and the house is very charming. It has a large kitchen where I cooked my eggs for breakfast, and Richard prepared a great coffee for us. It was lovely to chat with him and also with the other costumers.

Staff was very flexible with our later than expected check in and made it very easy to see ourselves in and settled. The location is beautiful.

The hostel has a pretty landscaped garden and balcony, with seating areas and stunning views of the area, and also offers free transport to the boats over to Skellig. Free transport arranged to Skelligs departure, if you book a tour with Casey Tours. What a little gem. Incredibly good value for money and very comfortable beds. Rooms and bathroom are small but clean. Mary made us the best cooked breakfast and gave us some great travel tips.
