Couldn’t find a more tranquil place than here. Daniella and Tony are awesome hosts! Only a short walk to town, yet far enough away to emerce yourself in nature.

The dorm beds were comfortable (and each had their own fan). There are nice places to chill, it’s well laid out, and the restaurant prices are very reasonable. When it’s not cloudy, you get a great view of volcano Concepcion from the 2nd floor. Irs pretty easy to chat with other travelers.

It was so beautiful. They also have a lookout place where you can see the volcano during the day and stars at night time. It was a super quiet and chill place. They also had kitties which is a big bonus.

Family run hostel and they were very welcoming and helpful. Small restaurant on site with really good food and coffee for a good price. Central location and only 10 min walk from the port.

We are in the Nicaraguan Ometepe Island, on the jungle slopes of the volcano Maderas 30km from the port town of Moyogalpa, between Santa Cruz and Balgue . This place stands out with its vibrant community, beautiful location, activities, and amazing food. I wish for everyone to experience El Zopilote. I’m really grateful I discovered this place. I learned a lot about permaculture during my time here. This place is awesome! My stay at El Zopilote Ometepe was unforgettable, marked by friendly vibes, beautiful surroundings, and a true sense of community.

At the hostel, every room includes a terrace. The friendly staff, the bar atmosphere and the good food. I also love the pod beds with privacy curtains and they actually provide a USBC cable in the beds which was helpful because I left my charger in the last hostel I stay in!

Situated in Las Pilas, 17 km from Maderas Volcano, Rainbow Caravan Hostel features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen and free WiFi throughout the property. The place was very clean and tidy, tranquil, and no noise at night which is rare in Nicaragua because there's always someone making some noise. The food was quality, homemade vegan goodness. Making a fire was cool and it has all the modern amenities like a fridge and cooking equipment so you can bring beer. Didn't have any bugs unlike some of the other hostels i stayed in on Ometepe. It's quite a good location equidistance between the two towns and near the start of Volcan Concepción. I recommend renting an ATV rather than a scooter at the port and picking it up in Ometepe, don't trust the people on the San Jorge side. The hostel also offers scooter rental although I picked mine up at port. Very photogenic hostel and peaceful.

Learned this was one of the original hostels on Ometepe. Breakfasts and dinners were freshly prepared with local ingredients. Their dogs and cats were very nice to spend time with. The hosts can lease scooters and deliver them for competitive prices. Communication with host prior to and during stay was excellent.

The hostel offers an à la carte or vegan breakfast. One of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed during my visit. You’re really in the jungle, in between the cacao trees with an exceptional view on the lake. All the vegan food I ate in the restaurant was delicious. Also the service was great, I’ve met Engel, one of the receptionists. He was so friendly and always happy to help or give you some tips to discover the island. Very grateful to have met him!
