I stayed in the dorm room on the top floor, which was comfortable and well-maintained. The rooftop restaurant is a perfect spot to relax, enjoy good food, and spend time chatting with friends. Overall, I really loved my stay here and would definitely recommend it!

I feel so comfortable and at home in this place. And will be coming back when I’m next in Kathmandu. Their facilities were beyond what I expected: a hot shower with GREAT pressure, clean toilets, super comfortable and warm beds, great WiFi service, super friendly and helpful staff, amazing food at the restaurant downstairs, and a generally homely and safe place in a great location within Thamel.

Vegetarian, dairy-free and vegan options can also be requested. The staff is very involved and friendly! The rooms are very very nice and spacious with a large storage box/shelf for your things as well as plenty of floor space. The walking tour is fantastic and there are game nights and other social/art activities to participate in. I was never bored! By far the best hostel in Kathmandu. The showers are also nice and hot!

Everything. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. Not pushy at all. So nice. And my room THE BEST. I was in a bird’s nest in the BIRD’s NEST. Grounds so pretty and quiet also. Always hot water, everything clean, everyone genuinely smiling. Such a pleasant stay in the city i know and visit very very frequently but always stay away from the center. Sunny is the best host ever! He took personal interest in us and we had some nice conversations. The rest of the staff is also exceptionally nice! I liked the hostel so much that I came back for a second stay bring a couple of friends. Even booking one night in advance I could get two rooms and everyone was happy to see us again. The food and coffee were really good!

Hostel Swastik is located in Bhaktapur, less than 1 km from Bhaktapur Durbar Square and 12 km from Patan Durbar Square. The property features a bar, as well as a restaurant serving Nepalese cuisine. The location was great, it was very easy to get around everywhere, the food was great, and the rooms felt clean and comfortable! The best part is honestly the people working here. They have become like family to me <3 I was staying here for almost a month and a half in spring of 2024 but I wouldn't have stayed as long as I did had I not bonded as hard as I did with Bishwo and Lena especially. We would eat together often, go out together, spend many late nights talking or jamming together or with other hostel guests and friends from the area, we made so much fun together! We'd spent the Newari new year together (Biska Jatra) and even took little day trips to Nagarkot for hiking and swimming. Staying here was a very special experience for me as I am sure it was for many other guests who have had the pleasure of getting to know the Swastik Hostel crew <3 I cannot wait to come back and see everyone. So much love to you Hostel Swastik, I miss you so much, and thank you for that time.
