Stadl an der Mur is a small municipality and popular holiday resort in Styria's Murtal region, located at an altitude of about 884 metres on the famous River Mur Cycling Trail. Salzburgerland with the Lungau nature reserve and Carinthia are just around the corner, where you can wander along mountain roads and stop off at the many waterfalls or mountain lakes. Furthermore, a visit to the Turracher Höhe, the idyllic Alm-See plateau, is surely recommended. Nearby (about 10 minutes by car) is the well-known family ski area Kreischberg, the most modern and snow-sure ski area in the region with 42 km of slopes and 13 cable cars and lifts.
