Hagepoorter is a medieval word and means "citizen of a city that lives outside" and is a nod to ourselves. We lived in Bruges for many years, where we first operated hotel Botaniek *** and then hotel Jan Brito ****.

We make important efforts for the environment: use of rainwater (toilets and washing machines). Heating is CO2 neutral (boiler on wood chips that we produce ourselves). Part of the electricity is produced by solar panels. Construction of small landscape elements (hedges, pollard willows, cattle drinking pool, etc.)
