The owners, Luca & Liudmila Bizzozero, are art dealers specializing in the Louis XVI and First Empire periods. Château Marnand had been left in a state of ruin. In 2020, Luca and Liudmila Bizzozero stepped in to rescue this magnificent building from a disastrous fate. After months of research, hard work, and five years of restoration, Château Marnand is now ready to face the 21st century with renewed strength.
Luca and Liudmila are passionate about art, decorative arts, and heritage, as well as classical music, gastronomy, and wine. They have successfully transformed Château Marnand into a jewel that brings together all their passions. Each apartment or room is furnished with pieces from their gallery. Guests can explore the château’s wine cellar, take part in wine tastings, enjoy gourmet meals, attend conferences or concerts.
Experience a truly unique stay, one that reconnects you with culture and nature.
Although Château de Marnand is nestled in the heart of Swiss nature and offers true peace and quiet, it is also surrounded by many exceptional places to discover. Whether you’re looking for a place to dine or hoping to admire traditional Swiss craftsmanship, Luca & Liudmila have plenty of recommendations to share. Don’t hesitate to ask them for more recommendations upon arrival at the château to better suit your preferences and interests.
Le Berceau des Sens: Located just 20 minutes from the château, this Michelin-starred restaurant is a unique gem in the region. It is part of EHL, the world’s leading hospitality school. A passionate brigade of student chefs and servers is led by a Michelin-starred chef. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience, full of surprises and, above all, exceptional gastronomy.
La Table de Mary: Another Michelin-starred restaurant offering a more intimate, family-style atmosphere. The setting feels like home, except with extraordinary cuisine. Run by Maryline and Loïc, with her in the kitchen and him in charge of the wines, this duo creates magic and unforgettable moments.
Fromagerie Maréchal: A family-run cheese shop that produces and matures its own cheeses. From the cow to your plate, everything is done in-house, and for every palate. A must-visit in Switzerland, where cows outnumber country’s population! Our favourites: their homemade butter and the Maréchal Réserve, both exceptional delicacies.
Sebanne: The village bakery and pastry shop that prepares all the breakfast items and sweet treats served at the château. A deeply family-rooted business that crafts innovative and delightful creations. Some of our favorites: cherry pain au chocolat, orange brioche, and chestnut bread.
Glass Artist Valérie de Roquemaurel: One of the last artisans in Switzerland to hand-blow glass and creates stunning works of art. Valérie welcomes you into her workshop to show you how glass is made and to share her delicate, awe-inspiring creations.
