Fond of history and nature, I took over this family estate upon request of my now late parents. I had spend my childhood here before a business career mostly in Paris and in Germany. Séverine and I love to share with our guests our passion for this place, its history, its stones, its rooms.

A property in the same family since 1745, Château d'Ailly is a large, bright castle at the heart of 80 hectares grounds with chapel, park, forest, meadows, lake and pond, tennis court, vegetable garden. It has the original flair of a real old aristocratic house but offers the modern comfort thanks to recent renovations and improvements. Although a genuine frenchman, the owner speaks german, english and a couple of other languages. Together with his wife he'll be pleased to welcome you in his family house. In addition, Château d'Aillys outbuildings offer an 8-sleep holiday rental (gîte) for longer stays as well as big reception rooms, for up to 350 seated guests (weddings, congresses, exhibitions, dog shows).

On the legendary Route Nationale 7, Roanne is located at about 1 hour drive from Lyon, Saint-Etienne and Clermont-Ferrand, between Beaujolais, Burgundy and Auvergne. The region is picturesque, with rapidly changing landscapes crossed by the Loire river. Lovely medieval villages, vineyards of the Côte Roannaise (10 km), local farm products, excellent food. The world-famous restaurant Troisgros, a 3 star-Michelin since 1968, is located 10 km away from Ailly.
