Our growing portfolio of stunning properties includes options that range from sprawling seaside villas with heated pools, edgy bolt holes for two, coastal cottages and beachside apartments to a bevy of luxury lodges, all with bubbling hot tubs. Highly skilled and local to the area, our 50 plus years of combined experience within the self-catering industry means we’re able to offer an unrivalled knowledge of our properties’ locations within Devon, Cornwall and Somerset, so our guests are in safe hands when entrusting us to find them the perfect holiday property in an area that we both understand and love. We’re also sticklers for top-notch customer service and will insist on going the extra mile for you, so whether it’s finding you a private chef to add pizzazz to a special occasion or simply chatting to you about the best place to grab fish and chips or a cream tea, we delight in making your stay with us just that extra bit special.

Property information

Set in an isolated position on Penlee Point, The Old Signal House is a stunning period property overlooking the sea and offers guests a unique break on a very special piece of the Cornish coastline. Originally built as a home for the staff and families who manned the Eddystone Lighthouse, this three-bedroom property is arranged over two floors, with an open plan living area occupying the upper level. Beautifully furnished, with a bright and airy atmosphere throughout, the lounge has a multi-fuel burner and boasts sea views from nearly every angle, making it the perfect place to watch the changing moods of ocean. The well-thought-out Shaker style kitchen which is open plan with the dining room, has plenty of worktop space and is equipped with modern, integrated appliances and a range of utensils and crockery. Further wonderful views make cooking and entertaining a pleasure, and for those glorious summery evenings there’s a furnished front terrace where guests can take share a refreshment or two while watching the sun set. Surrounded by unspoiled countryside and with access to many coastal walks, The Old Signal House is also within easy reach of the villages at nearby Kingsand and Cawsand, making it a true gem for families and friends looking to experience the best of Cornish coastal living. * Please note the property is accessed by 82 steps from the car park

Neighbourhood information

Surrounded by unspoiled countryside and wide sea views, it’s unsurprising that there are many wonderful walks in the area, the best of which is the 5-mile circular route along the coast path which passes right by the property’s front door. This stunning section of the South West Coast Path takes in the wild beauty of Rame Peninsula’s position in an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty with woodland and wildflowers to enjoy, as well as sandy bays and the historic villages of Kingsand and Cawsand. Of course if you’d like to spend time on the beach during your stay, you’ll also have plenty of beautiful sandy stretches to choose from including Penlee Point Beach (just a short scramble along the path), Cawsand Bay and Kingsand Bay, and Whitsand Bay which at low tide sprawls for 4 shimmering miles. A seasonal ferry from nearby Cawsand transports visitors to the Barbican in Plymouth during the summer months so for those who fancy a spot of shopping and culture this is a great way to spend the day. The trip takes about half an hour and the Barbican is a fun spot for all the family, with a range of bars and cafes and a small museum about the US Pilgrim’s Mayflower voyage. Plymouth itself offers a huge range of activities too, including the national marine aquarium, museums and art galleries, climbing walls, theatres and the Drake Centre shopping centre.
