2SMW was built in around 1890 and can be described as quirky. It has been modernised throughout yet retains its Victorian charm. The staircase leading to the 2nd floor for example is narrow so we added a handrail for guests a little unsteady on their feet. The twin room was a particular challenge when setting up the beds because the walls are not squared. Its been a challenge but fun to make it a warm and comfortable place from which to explore Peebles and the surrounding area. There is an OS map in the kitchen. Please feel free to take a photo of it and voila you have a map of the area.
I'm close to 50 and when not running backwards and forwards to 2SMW with clean bedding I'm on the golf course. I love my Springer spaniel Dizzy and love dogs in general. This is the reason 2SMW is pet friendly.
2SMW is right on the High Street but tucked away so you miss the Saturday night pub noise. Its 10 seconds to the Crown and has ample parking on Saint Michaels Bank. Peebles is a typical Borders town. Very busy with tourists and plenty to see/do. We get lots and lots of wedding guests due to the high number of wedding venues close by. 2SMW is also the perfect place if you are a golfer. There are many courses within 40 mins drive. The river Tweed is very close by for any visiting fly fishermen.
