Beautiful traditional Devon country farmhouse. Quintessential English garden. Central location.
I have run my house as a B&B for 15 years, having been a professional viola player and an Alexander Technique teacher. Having had my family grow up in this beautiful farmhouse I have enjoyed restoring it to original features where possible, and enjoy making guests as comfortable as possible. I offer a delicious breakfast made from local ingredients. The garden is much admired and when possible I welcome guests with a pot of tea.
Having lived at Appalachian Spring for 40 years I know many of the local restaurants and pubs and can make suggestions of places to visit in the area.
Appalachian Spring is close to Totnes station, and a mile from Totnes. It issituated in the Sourh Ham’s which is designated an Area of Outstanding Beauty. The Dartington Hall Estate is walking distance and offers wonderful walks through the woods and along the river Dart. The Green Table café is near the car parks and is very popular.
A 7 minute walk from Appalachian Spring takes you to the 14C award-winning Cott Inn serving delicious meals and drinks in what is the longest thatched pub in England.
Steam trains, boat trips, otters, butterflies, rare breeds centre with its animal petting area and Agatha Christie’s house at Greenway are just a small selection of things on offer.
