Drift barn is a new architect-designed barn conversion in one of the most spectacular sites in Suffolk, overlooking the Blyth estuary. Renowned architect Richard Griffiths made this as a second-home for his own family and guests. Everything has been designed to exacting standards, with the highest quality of materials, including walnut flooring, clay plaster and slate tiling. Living/dining/kitchen area with sliding doors to south-facing dining terrace, 2 bedrooms, 2 shower rooms.
I am a concert pianist, married to an architect. We have two children, aged 21 and 29.
The barn is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is renowned for its exceptional bird-life. Four miles from the delightful seaside town of Southwold and Walberswick village. There is plenty to do locally, including seaside, countryside, culture (the world-famous Aldeburgh festival is nearby) bird-watching (from the barn itself and Minsmere) and lovely shops, pubs and restaurants About two and a half hours drive from London.
