Old Tynribbie House was built in the late 18th Century and has been refurbished into a comfortable 2 storey, 4-bedroom family home. The house is situated in the heart of the West Coast of Scotland, in the village of Appin in Argyll on the A828 opposite the Port Appin junction. The house comprises of a comfortable living room, a large family kitchen, 3 small double rooms, a twin bedroom, a shower room and a bathroom. On arrival you will walk through the front door into a tiled hall area. Downstairs off the hall is a small double room and a twin room and a family shower room. A wooden spiral staircase takes you to a mezzanine floor upstairs which overlooks the lounge below. Upstairs there is a small double room to the front and a second small double room to the rear with a Jack and Jill bathroom which can be used as an en-suite or dual use – which ever works best for your family. The living room is comfortable with a leather sofa and occasional chair. Also, in the living area is the main TV with Sky along with a wood burner - which is great on a cold winter’s day. The hub of the house has got to be the kitchen; this is our favourite place to be as it becomes central to everything going on in the day. The kitchen has an iconic barn style theme which always feels warm and welcoming with a large dining table. The kitchen is fitted with everything you need including a washing machine and a dish washer. French doors from the kitchen lead to the patio area with views of the meadow and Beinn Donn. There is a large family patio style table and chairs. * Long weekends / Short Stays can be arranged. Please email directly for availability and pricing. Facilities • Parking • Wood Burner • Underfloor Heating • White Goods• Free Wifi • TV with Sky • Linen • Towels • Wardrobes • Coat Stand• Garden Patio (front and back of house) • Garden Furniture
Hi, my name is Angela and I am the lucky owner of Old Tynribbie House. I am originally from Appin and the vast majority of my family still live and work in the Appin Area. Old Tynribbie House was originally my Great Grandfather's. In 2008 the property was fully renovated by myself into a comfortable family home. As a family we have had some amazing times here and over the years we have had numerous friends to stay - they have all loved their time here and any opportunity they can stay they do! I hope that you and your family will enjoy staying at Old Tynribbie and you will feel the same way as them and want to keep coming back. Enjoy your stay. Angela
Old Tynribbie House is in centre of the Village of Appin. It is a great base to travel around Argyll and surrounding areas. Appin is a great location to base yourself and travel via Car to Oban, which is the main Ferry Port to take you to most of the Western Isles. You are also close to Glencoe, Fort William, the Isle of Skye and Inverness. Appin is an ideal location to be able to go to the many local beaches, have lovely walks, fish, hill climb or take a short ferry trip to the lovely Island of Lismore. Old Tynribbie is directly opposite a Sustran cycle track which goes all the way from Oban to Fort William. Luckily there are a few highly recommended restaurants and bars for you to stop off at along the way.
