Field Dalling is an idyllic, tucked away pretty North Norfolk village, that you may not have heard of. The village is well-connected, situated just three miles inland from the coast at Morston, and four miles from the coastal village of Blakeney and the Georgian market town of Holt.
Neighbouring Binham is a small, rural village situated almost entirely within a Conservation Area. Despite its proximity to the north Norfolk coast, this community is still very much home to working farms and permanent residents. The village focusses around the atmospheric Benedictine Priory ruins, the stones from which were used in the construction of many local properties in the vicinity. The village offers a surprising number of amenities including an extremely well-stocked village store, butchers, petrol pump, and active community village hall. The village pub, The Chequers, serves good food and is popular with both visitors and locals alike.
Also nearby, are the villages of Great Walsingham and Little Walsingham, with a beautiful mediaeval church that retains much of its original art and carvings, you'll fall in love with the historical charm of these villages. Be sure to visit the craft barn and Walsingham Cafe, famous for handmade pies and pastries, amongst other delicious food.
Just a short drive away, Wells-next-the-Sea is a hub for North Norfolk coastal activities. From the picturesque harbour, where gilling for crabs is a must, you can walk, drive or catch the beach bus to the spectacular beach with its famous array of colourful beach huts and pine forest. Wells features a flurry of independent shops, cafes, restaurants galleries, arcades and some of the best fish 'n' chips in the area.
