Dylan Thomas had rooms here in the 1940s; the 17th and 18th century farmhouse partially designed by John Nash is now a shabby chic family home in rural Ceredigion close to many stunning beaches and offers just one wonderfully peaceful Guest room with idyllic views, ample parking, private entrance and Music/breakfast/sitting room for your use. Inhabited by the family, including the now elderly owner whose expertise in antiques created the authentically furnished interior, it is a historic, peaceful and curiously relaxing place to stay where you can find respite from life's bustle and rush, or put your feet up after a long day's work. There is no TV, but decent WiFi and a large and eclectic mix of books. There is a grand piano in the Music room which musicians are welcome to make use of.
I love welcoming people as I grew up in the house and love to share it with people who appreciate it.
South of Aberystwyth and North of Cardigan, Gelly is perfectly situated for exploring all the beauty of West Wales. Within easy reach of the coast, you can also access Southern Snowdonia, the Preseli hills and the Brecon beacons as well as the nearby Cambrian mountains. Kidwelly, and Carreg Cennen are just two of the castles within an hour's drive; the National Trust's Llanarchaeron, also by John Nash, is just a few miles along the valley towards Aberaeron, where this visionary architect designed the pretty little fishing town too.
