Hammoon Manor Barn seeks to define the meaning of luxury self-catered accommodation. A 5 Star Gold Award-winning, listed barn conversion in the heart of Thomas Hardy’s ‘Vale of Little Dairies’. Only two and a half hours from Central London, Hammoon Manor Barn is surrounded by walled gardens, and forms part of the historic Manor House (one of the largest thatched Manor Houses in England). With its original art, open beams, stone floors and wood burners, Hammoon Manor Barn has been lovingly restored to provide a place of contemporary luxury, charm, and character, 'Far from the Madding Crowd' and the perfect base to explore Hardy’s hidden England.

Many years ago, living overseas, we came across a picture of Hammoon Manor (I believe in the Times). I thought about what I wouldn’t give to live in such a picturesque and historic house in such idyllic surroundings never thinking for a moment that I could be so blessed. Yet here we are with our family - a story in itself! Having completely restored the house and converted the barns to luxury 5-star luxury cottages, we are truly blessed to live in such peaceful and idyllic surroundings at the heart of Thomas Hardy’s Dorset. It always gives us such pleasure to see our guests enjoying Hammoon and all that Dorset and the surrounding area have to offer in the same way we do.

Hammoon Manor is near the A303, A30, A37, A35 and A31, and A357 and situated 2 miles East of Sturminster Newton deep in the Dorset countryside. It is in the middle of Thomas Hardy’s “vale of little dairies”. We are at the centre of a triangle of the country towns of Sherborne to the west, Shaftesbury to the north and Blandford Forum to the south. Hammoon Manor is 2½ hours by car from London, and 1 hours 50 minutes by train from London Waterloo to Gillingham station Dorset (our nearest train station). We are also within easy reach of Bournemouth, Dorchester and Salisbury.
