Company information
Stones Cottages is a family run business. We are trying to create a place where people can come on holiday whilst having a minimal environmental impact.
The holiday cottages have been lovingly created by us from the ruins of an 18th century agricultural courtyard. Each cottage has been renovated using a mixture of traditional and environmentally friendly techniques to create architecturally beautiful and unique holiday cottages.
In addition, we have tried to keep the environment as toxin free as possible with the use of plant based paints, lime plasters and mortars, working in concert to create peaceful, warm, comfortable green holiday cottages in harmony with the environment. All the water comes from our own borehole and is regularly tested, it requires no treatment and is possibly the purest water in Pembrokeshire. Most of all, we hope we have created a place where you can enjoy a green holiday with all comforts and considerations.
Pembrokeshire is a popular tourist attraction and has much to satisfy a diverse range of tastes. There is far too much to list everything to do in the local area, but loads of information can be found at the Pembrokeshire Tourist Information Centres. Below are a few of our favourite things.
The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.
One of the most spectacular coastal walks in the country and one of the most dramatic sections is all but a 30-minute walk from the cottage.
Wild flower and Bird Watching
With its national park and conservation areas, coastlines, offshore islands (teeming with puffins, razorbills, shearwaters, storm petrels and chough) and the Pembrokeshire hedges the area is a popular destination for nature lovers. Foxgloves, pink campion, snowdrops, woodland carpets of bluebells, gorses and heathers are to name but a few of the many flowers. These are also the hunting grounds for the buzzards and peregrine falcons that inhabit the area.

Property information
Harmony Barn is a comfortable, cosy eco holiday cottage sleeping up to four people in two spacious bedrooms. The downstairs bedroom of the holiday cottage has two large comfortable single beds with an en suite wet room and views from the large arched coach house window of the courtyard garden. The upstairs bedroom of Harmony Barn contains a king-size bed with views from the windows of Garn Fawr and the surrounding countryside. It also has an en suite bathroom with a bath and shower.
The lounge of Harmony Barn contains a sofa and two easy chairs set around the log burning stove. There is also a flat screen TV, DVD player and stereo system in the lounge. Also, downstairs is a dining table and a separate kitchen. The kitchen includes a low energy fridge with ice box, gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave.
All the bed linen and towels for the holiday cottage are fair trade and organic. The price also includes all logs, gas and electricity. The hot water in the holiday cottage is heated using solar thermal energy and the crystal clear water in the holiday cottage is pumped from our own borehole. We have used as many natural products in the renovation and decoration of Harmony Barn as we could, natural wood, slate tiles, lime plasters, clay paints all add to the special feel of this eco holiday cottage.
We allow up to two dogs in the cottage as long as they are well-behaved, they have their own beds and bowls, they do not go upstairs, and they stay off the furniture. Likewise, we ask that you do not leave them on their own in the cottages. There are a number of fields around Llandruidion where they can run without leads. Please check with us which fields when you get here.
Please note that the upstairs bedroom in Harmony Cottage is reached by a steep alternate tread staircase, which may not be suitable for some people.
