Company information

We took over this building in 2014 and spent 2 years on a massive renovation project into a Bistro and B&B. The Bistro and B&B were owned by different members of the same family and in late 2021 the owner of the successful Bistro decided to leave the hospitality industry. This opportunity allowed the change of direction to convert the business to a Holiday Let, offering this beautiful building for the private use for families and groups to holiday together.

Property information

Herdwicks is a detached Grade II listed building built in 1873, which has been sympathetically restored and renovated to offer a beautiful holiday home in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is a landmark building with views overlooking the Cumbrian coast and the Lake District mountain range. Herdwicks offers 4 very large bedrooms all with beautiful views of the surrounding area and a newly fitted kitchen with all the best amenities. We even have an indoor log fired pizza oven for your BBQ & rustic cooking. In the comfortable lounge guests can sit and rest by the real fire on the Harris Tweed sofas. There is a dining area and bar where guests can prepare and serve their own drinks. Outside is a large patio area facing the Cumbrian coast with far reaching views to the RSPB wildlife lagoon and the water-sports lake. Guests have use of the picnic tables and benches provided, the sunsets are often stunning from this aspect. On the other side of the property there is a lawn garden area with views to the Cumbrian mountains. The ample sized carpark and driveway is for Herdwick guests private use. We also have a secure outbuilding where guests can store away bikes and fishing gear.
