Hello!
We’re Octavian and Cristina. After spending 15 years living and working in London, we decided to take a slower, more meaningful path. Our travels across the UK led us to fall in love with the beauty and peace of East Anglia, especially Suffolk. In 2024, we made the move to the countryside, embracing a simpler life surrounded by nature.
We now call rural Suffolk home, along with our lovely (and slightly mischievous!) dog and two affectionate cats. We're passionate about creating a welcoming space where guests can unwind, explore, and enjoy the quiet charm of the area, just as we have.
We love walking, discovering hidden gems, and connecting with people from all walks of life. Whether you need local tips or just a peaceful place to relax, we're here to help make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible.

Located in West Suffolk, just south of the Norfolk border, Hopton is a peaceful rural village set along the B1111 between Stanton and Garboldisham. With a population of around 650, it offers a warm, close-knit community and essential amenities such as a shop, primary school, church, village hall, coffee shop, and pub.
Hopton is surrounded by beautiful countryside and nature reserves, making it an ideal base for relaxation, walking, birdwatching, and heritage discovery.
Just two miles west of Lazy Acre is Knettishall Heath Nature Reserve, a stunning blend of heathland, woodland, and wetland. Rare birds such as the woodlark and nightjar live here, and grazing ponies help maintain the landscape. With scenic trails and open skies, it’s a peaceful escape into nature.
To the east, visit Thelnetham Windmill, a restored 19th-century mill built around 1820. One of the last of its kind, the windmill offers tours where you can learn about traditional milling and Suffolk’s rural past.
A short walk from Lazy Acre brings you to Market Weston Fen, a rare wetland habitat home to birds like bitterns, reed buntings, and sedge warblers, as well as butterflies and dragonflies. It’s a perfect local spot for nature lovers and birdwatchers.
Whether you’re exploring scenic reserves or enjoying the slower pace of village life, Hopton offers the perfect mix of tranquillity and discovery in the Suffolk countryside.
