A very peaceful and authentic place to stay with friendly and attentive hosts. The area is beautiful, the cottage is cozy, and has almost everything you'd need. The collection of cats that roam the place is also a huge plus for any cat lover ;)

We have a 200 year old converted two storey stone barn available for guests to stay in on a working smallholding. Relax in the middle of nowhere in beautiful West Wales and enjoy the countryside, red kites flying overhead, stars, owls at night and beautiful sunsets (plus a bit of rain – it is wales after all!). We are nestled 1000ft above sea level on the edge of the unspoilt and wild Cambrian Mountains, 7 miles from Cardigan Bay and just an hour and a half away from Snowdonia National Park. The whole of the barn conversion is yours to use and you have your own front door to access it. You have your own garden area to use and we ask that children are supervised. You can take a wonder down the track to the paddock and see the ponies and the sheep (the ponies will always be grateful of a carrot or apple!) Our barn has two bedrooms, one large double with a big enough space for a travel cot and adjoining this is a twin room with two single beds. Although the barn joins the main farmhouse, it has its own entrance and is fully self contained. It is worth noting that the stairs are quite steep to the bedrooms, the bathroom is downstairs and we are a working smallholding.
We grow a lot of our own food here - fruit and vegetables and animals for eggs, meat and wool. You are very welcome to chat to us about how we do this and how we use things like the wool (we spin and weave our own yarn). We also have a Smokery on site where we produce different flavours of smoked bacon, smoked chillies and smoked chilli jams and smoked salts.
We are family friendly – you can come and help collect the eggs, feed the animals and experience farm life. Depending on the time of year you may find there are lambs to bottle feed, or ponies to brush or maybe watch us sheering the sheep or have a hold of newly hatched chicks. There is plenty to do nearby…treat yourself to lunch and walk around the pretty harbour town of Aberaeron, go on a speedboat ride to see the dolphins and explore the coastal caves near New Quay, go for a pony trek from a local horseriding center or watch the Red Kites at one of the many Red Kite feeding centers. Ceredigion has fantastic off road cycle and running trails and 65 miles of the stunning Ceredigion Coastal Path to explore. If you would rather take it easy and relax why not a sample some local cheeses in Abersytwyth or Llandeilo or enjoy a tour of one of the local distilleries.
