Mariners House is a newly refurbished and opened bed and breakfast. Renovations are on-going but are external and won’t affect the comfort of guests. It has three double bedrooms, two of which are en suite. The master bedroom can be arranged either as a super king or a twin. The third bedroom can only be let with the master bedroom so that the bathroom can be shared (e.g. for families or a group of friends). There is a sitting room for the sole use of guests and each room also has a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Locked bike storage is also offered.
We love having visitors and enjoy making people feel at home. We’re keen walkers, so have a lot of local knowledge and experience of walking including the SW coast path and the Tarka Trail.
Bideford is described as a coastal estuary town and is close to the beach at Northam Burrows and also attractive villages such as Appledore and Instow. There are lots of good places to eat both in Bideford and the surrounding area. The famous North Devon Golf Course is very handy and boats go from Bideford to Lundy Island. It’s an easy walk into town where you can access the SW coast path which comes across Bideford’s old bridge and the Tarka Trail. Nearby are Rosemoor RHS garden and the Dartington glass factory at Torrington. Tapeley House and Arlington House (NT) are also close by.
