Nuthatch has been thoughtfully designed to combine country, contemporary and character. Modern comforts are mixed with classic pieces, and a colour scheme of neutrals and warm tones inspired by woodland and river. The country chic vibe includes a panelled lounge and a light-filled kitchen-dining-sitting space where classic Crittall glazed doors open onto a private, sunny, walled courtyard garden. With BBQ, fire pit and table and chairs, it’s the perfect spot for relaxed drinks and al fresco eats.

Nuthatch is in an idyllic spot on the very edge of Brockenhurst, a village in the heart of the New Forest. Only a quiet lane separates this charming cottage from open Forest where ponies, donkey, cattle and pigs (in pannage season) roam free across expanses of grazed lawn, heath and woodland.
The call of adventure will prove irresistible. Pull on your boots and head off into this wild landscape criss-crossed by miles of tracks and paths. However, Brockenhurst’s tempting cafes, tea shops and traditional indie village stores are only a gentle stroll away – among them an award-winning bakery with amazing bread, pastries and pasties, excellent butchers and greengrocers. Fill your bags with delicious foodie buys for picnics and suppers while navigating the donkeys and ponies wandering down the high street (aka Brookley Road), while drivers and cyclists swish through the ford that runs across one end of the road, locally called the water splash.
There are numerous cafes, pubs and destination restaurants. Here are just a very few favourites: The Paddle in the Forest for brunch, Albero for modern Italian cooking, and the very first THE PIG - only a mile and half’s Foresty wander.
A range of treats includes ‘Brock Beach’, a riverside spot popular with families for dipping your toes and cooling off on a hot day, pampering spas, fine dining restaurants, country pubs, a picturesque 18-hole golf course, and comprehensive bike hire service (includes routes, helmets etc).
