Poppies is one of the most charming hotels in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Located only 4 minutes from the centre of the popular town of Callander with its independent shops and variety of eating and drinking establishments. Poppies itself has a wonderful whisky bar which also is stocked with John's small individually selected list of wines and an excellent range of Scottish Gin. It is reserved for residents only and open in the afternoon till early evening when you can also enjoy the garden seating in the sunnier months. We have free on site car parking and can accept motorcyclists and cyclists and also help with drying facilities when required. Our breakfasts are second to none, cooked freshly with as much local and Scottish produce as possible.

John and Susan Martin have owned and personally run Poppies Hotel since 2004 and enjoy many many returning guests and look forward to meeting new ones. John has over 40 years of experience in top quality hotels, whilst Susan joined him in their Poppies venture from her service skills in hairdressing after bringing up two fantastic daughters. Poppies has been their "baby", and they pride themselves on the personal day to day interaction with their guests, ensuring that every request or assistance is met swiftly and timeously. When they do get time off, they love to travel, hike and cycle. John has recently taken up Golf again and loves to go and watch his football team. Susan is a great lover of her garden and assists at the hotel and at home growing vegetables and herbs. She enjoys painting and decorating in the winter months and has started to take up upholstery.

Poppies is situated at the quiet west end of Callander, yet only 4 minutes level walk to the centre of the town with its interesting selection of individual shops. The outdoor life and opportunities are vast, being the gateway to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. We have many local walks which we enjoy and will be delighted to share them with you.
