The Annex (Shortflatt tower wings) at Shortflatt Tower adjoins the grade one listed 13th Century Pele tower. This historic building is situated in the walled gardens, ancient woodland and private surrounding land of Shortflatt Tower estate. This beautiful building offers a gracious taste of luxury country living with elegance and comfort in abundance .
The spacious Annex drawing room has luxury sofas and a feature fire place with log burner for those colder nights . There is a fully fitted kitchen with all the necessary amenities and ground floor bathroom and toilet.
The opulence continues with the 5 luxury en-suite bedrooms, rainfall showers and classically styled baths. Three of which can be made into twin rooms. One of the en suite bedrooms is situated on the ground floor for convenience, with beautiful garden views.
The Annex opens out to an impressive suntrap courtyard which offers a stylish area for a BBQ, drinks, private dining and relaxation.
With a variety of areas to stroll or to sit and relax in the garden and parkland, it is a wonderful space to explore. The Ancient tree lined drive is a kilometre long so there is great privacy and uninterrupted views

We are surrounded by beautiful countryside, excellent walking opportunities, great cycle routes and bridleways and both National Trust and English Heritage properties.
There are several footpaths and bridleways from Shortflatt tower which will take you through Harnham and the Buddhist monastery. Continue to Shaftoe Crags for sweeping panoramic views across one of England’s best preserved rural landscapes. On a good clear day, you can see the Northumbrian coast and silhouettes of the Simonside hills
Capability Brown was described as the Shakespeare of gardening and was born at Kirkharle which is 8 miles away. Enjoy the coffee house and courtyard shops. This was his first workplace and the lake has been restored to his original design.
Belsay Hall, Castle and gardens are only 3 miles away and the castle can be seen from the top of Shortflatt tower. The hall is inspired by Grecian architecture, ramble around the ruined medieval castle and 30 acres of gardens including the quarry garden.
We are within short driving distance of Newcastle upon Tyne city centre's excellent shopping and amazing nightlife.
